Develop your creativity skill making a 15cm x 15 cm mosaic using the direct technique, where the tesserae is glued directly onto wooden support. 

The one day mosaic workshop will give you an introduction into a  mosaic world, having the opportunity to learn and discover  more about this ancient art. The emphasis will be on the making  however, there will also be the chance to gain some knowledge of the history and evolution of  mosaic over the centuries. 

All  designs are already  provided by the tutor. If you wish to bring your own design it will need to be agreed with the tutor in advance before the start of the workshop.

**Workshop contents** : 

-  Introduction to the course and the technique;
-  Selection of the design and materials;
-  How to trasfer/ draw an image to prepare the creation of a 
    mosaic
-  How to cut and shape tiles to create your own mosaic using 
    mosaic nippers;
-  How to create a mosaic using Andamento (layout) 
    technique;
-  Direct method : gluing your tesserae directly onto the 
    wooden support;
-  Complate and grout your mosaic.

All materials were laid out and ready to go and there was a great selection of tiles and colours to choose from. Everything was explained clearly and the time flew bye as we saw our work come together piece by piece.The best moment is right at the end, grouting done and you're cleaning the tiles, the whole thing comes to life and the colours pop!
