The one day mosaic workshop will give you an introduction into a  mosaic world, having the opportunity to learn and discover  more about this ancient art. All  designs are already  provided by the tutor. If you wish to bring your own design it will need to be agreed with the tutor in advance before the start of the workshop.

There was plenty of colours of tiles (both ceramic and glass) to chose from, and the templates of the designs she prepared in advance made it very easy to make a start. Giulia is hugely knowledgable and experienced, a real expert in her field who is able to transmit her passion for the craft and the range of  techniques clearly and with great enthusiasm. 
Her 
beautiful studio is well-equipped with everything you need to make your own piece of mosaic.  Time really flew by as we drew out our designs, learned how to cut and arrange tiles and then mix concrete to assemble the final framed work. I particularly loved selecting the colours of beautiful tiles for my design, and seeing the 'big reveal' as the piece is refined and completed. Giulia is really encouraging and was on hand to help with the inevitable challenges that arise when learning new skills. 

I've always admired mosaic- from Roman to Victorian examples, so it was fascinating to hear about how they are made and gain insight into the skills of the mosaicist. I was extremely  proud to bring home my finished work and explain all the techniques i had learned in just one day.
